This DIY Feather Christmas Tree Cone is one of the simplest holiday decor you can make for small spaces! If you have few craft feathers or even leaves, you can make this in 15 mins. If you like to look at other trees hop on to my other post about DIY Glitter cone Christmas trees.
I was completely inspired by all Juju hat decor I’m seeing around to make this Christmas tree! This is one of the five Christmas tree cones I’m sharing for small spaces.
If you already have a cone form, these DIY Feather Christmas tree cone is inexpensive, easy and quick to make for the holidays! If you don’t have cone form, you can make it with a poster board cutting it in a party hat shape. These are great for small spaces and apartments where you don’t have lot of room for a big tree. You can use this on windowsill, in trays with some ornaments, on book shelves, on office desk or anywhere you can think of!
First let’s talk about what kind of feathers I have used to make this Christmas tree. You can easily use loose feathers or feather boa but I wanted this project to be very easy. I used a feather trim which was super quick to wrap around the cone form. Let’s take a look at how to make these.

MATERIALS NEEDED TO MAKE THE FEATHER CHRISTMAS TREE
- Paper mache cones
- If you are making your own cones, try a poster board
- Feather trim, you can also use loose feathers or feather boa
- Glue gun and glue sticks
- White acrylic paint and paint brush
HOW TO MAKE THE WHITE FEATHER CHRISTMAS TREE
- Choose the right size paper mache cones to make the feather tree. I chose the tallest one in the set for this.
- Paint the whole cone the color as the feathers you are using. Let it dry.
- Now, start gluing the feather trim around the cone from the bottom.
- Adjust the feather trim once it reaches the top.
Ta-dah! that’s it! Your DIY Feather Christmas Tree cone is done! You can use this tree cone throughout the year instead of just for the holidays. Feather decor will look great with gold, tulle and velvet decor pieces.

I would like to make the feather cone, can you tell me how big your cone was that you used? And how many feather packages did you use. I know that 2 yards come in the amazon link you gave. I want to make sure I order enough feathers.
Hi, I used the largest cone in the link(13.75×5). Yes, 2 yards of the trim was enough to make it. Hope this helps!
