ONE ROOM CHALLENGE WEEK 8 – FALL 2021 COZY MASTER BEDROOM REVEAL!
It’s the week 8 and the final week of One Room Challenge! If you have not heard of ORC, it is a semi annual Interior design event where featured and guest participants transform a room of their choice. This event is in it’s 20th season which celebrates creativity, inspiration and their original ideas.
The ORC was started by Linda Weinstein of Calling It Home, and Better Homes & Gardens is the official media sponsor. The event is for 8 weeks and I’m sharing my Master bedroom makeover in my home.
Yay! finally the wait is over! drum roll please:) I did finish my Cozy, light, airy Master bedroom makeover this week. It has been a wonderful challenge and a huge learning curve for me to do things by myself! I’m very proud that I did finish it on time and it came out as I envisioned it.
When we bought our home few months back, it was in good condition and was well staged by the realtor. It was grey as the modern color and with lot of heavy wooden furniture set styled in a very small space. It felt dark and heavy (not moody) for my style. We got our home painted in white before we moved in. I knew I can start working on each space with white as a foundation color.
The master bedroom is only 13×11 feet. It is not a big space so I wanted it to feel light, airy and cozy at the same time! I tried to use mostly natural colors and materials like green wall, cane, linen curtains, stone/terra-cotta vases. I’ll have more tutorials and details in future posts about all the process, mistakes and how to style the space.
Without much further ado, lets take a look at the finished Master Bedroom space! Let me add the before picture to see the transformation:)
Another before of the Sliding closet doors!
Here is the before of the wall next to the door!
Accent Wall and Cane sliding closets are complete DIY’s. Ikea Dresser and the nightstands got an upgrade by changing the knobs. All the decor pieces got the space together to make it airy, fresh and a very cozy space!
