ONE ROOM CHALLENGE WEEK 3 – FALL 2021 COZY MASTER BEDROOM MAKEOVER
It’s the week 3 of One Room Challenge! If you have not heard of ORC, it is a semi annual Interior design event where featured and guest participants transform a room of their choice. This event is in it’s 20th season which celebrates creativity, inspiration and their original ideas.
The ORC was started by Linda Weinstein of Calling It Home, and Better Homes & Gardens is the official media sponsor. The event is for 8 weeks where I’ll be sharing my Master bedroom makeover in my home.
This week I should have finished the accent wall of our Master bedroom but choosing the right shade of color has been really difficult. I tried chalk paint, some BM and SW samplize paint swatches, I’m still not happy with the color! I can’t say that the room doesn’t get much sunlight. It is in the east corner, but the window is on the same wall as the accent wall and the light doesn’t fall on that wall!
This is the current closet door. The one thing I like about this door is the height. The door goes till the ceiling and the top part inside the closet door is easily accessible!
As far as the sliding closet door goes, I’m planning to paint that in Chalk paint. I’ll add rattan inside a frame which covers two thirds of the door. I prefer to keep that as a sliding door since there is not much space to open the door. I’m going to keep the paint color white or some shade of warmer white.
Next, I will add nightstands, dresser and lighting. I’m very excited about the wall sconces I’ve ordered. It is my first time using it as a bedside lamp. Let’s see how everything comes together in the coming weeks!

I will add more details going forward with each post. Be sure to follow along the progress here on the blog and on my Instagram! For more design inspiration, don’t forget to follow the other participants on the ORC blog.
